Global Impact
The No More Violence movement began in 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1999, the president of the nation, Carlos S. Menem, requested a meeting with the NMV leadership to learn more about the movement and give his support.
In 2001, the Ministry of Education of Buenos Aires gave a proclamation that permitted the NMV material to be used in public schools. Law was passed in the province of Misiones that the material must be taught in public schools. On September 29, 2017, the Senate of Argentina presented the NMV leadership with a certificate of honor on our 20th anniversary.
It is this material today that is being used in Argentina, Venezuela, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador, and the United States. Doors continue to open to share a message of peace. For example, the police academy in Comayagua, Honduras is now using theNMV material to train their cadets and to build relationships with the community.
