NMV Training in Progreso, Honduras

Progreso, Honduras April 7-10, 2017

It was a privilege to be in Honduras where 51 young people gathered in the city of Progreso, Honduras. They came from five cities and following our time together on Saturday and Sunday, they are prepared to begin work in public schools. The leaders have identified a list of schools that churches will adopt, where the NMV principles will be taught.

The training provided an opportunity for practical application and hands on participation in the group dynamics that are used in the classroom. The questions and comments indicate that the young warriors are prepared to begin sharing values and principles of nonviolence found in God’s word.

A historical moment took place as Andrés Cortez, President of the Honduran Baptist Convention and David Balyeat, President of NMV Internacional signed a covenant agreement of cooperation that will allow for NMV to move across the country strategically.  Miguel Batres, President of the Honduran Baptist youth and Vice President Ramon Mejía were also present for the signing as were the young people gathered for the training.

We believe Honduras is on it’s way to great things in the name of Jesus. The opportunities and timing are ripe and the volunteers are ready for action.

We praise God for these advances and trust that what He has begun, He will bring to fruition.
